Weather Again

No sailing again this past weekend. In fact, not even any rowing or kayaking.

I even delayed going up until Saturday afternoon, since the forecast was better for Sunday. Got up there and the winds were still gusting at least to 20 knots, if not higher. By Sunday morning the robotic voice on the weather radio was proclaiming that, due to the chance of waterspouts, "boaters are advised to seek immediate safe harbor." Or something close to that. I guess it got a little better in the afternoon, but by that time I was convinced that maybe it wasn't the day for me. Just about everyone else at the marina had already figured that out, since there were only a handful of folks there.

Had a really good night's sleep, though!

And it was interesting how clear the air was, despite the very cloudy skies. South Bass Islan looked like it was about a mile offshore, instead of the more than 10 miles it is from Port Clinton. There are days when you can't see it at all because of the haze. Not Sunday, though.

Wait untl next week!
